“Beer Bacon Jam”

Beer, Bacon, Jam. Those three words are all favorites…separately. But if you haven’t tried all three words together, then you’re really missing out. It’s smoky, sweet, and savory.  Use it on toast, mix with some cream cheese for crackers or chips. It works on a variety of things, and is just damn tasty!




12 oz Bacon (try to get real bacon, not grocery store bacon)

4 Cloves Garlic

½ C Red Onion

12 oz Amber Ale

¼ C Apple Cider Vinegar

¾ C Brown Sugar



Chunk your bacon up and add it to a pan on medium low to render out the fat and crisp it up a little.



While the bacon is rendering, peel and slice your garlic and red onion.



Once the bacon has rendered and crisped up, use a slotted spoon and transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels.



Add your onion and garlic to the pan and season. Saute until caramelized.



Deglaze with the vinegar and let it reduce until almost gone.



Add your beer and brown sugar and stir until the sugar’s dissolved. Reduce by half.



Pour all of the ingredients into a food processor and pulse. You want to break it down a little, but still leave it nice and chunky.



Serve warm. Spread a little on some warm toast, your burger buns, or make it into dip. No matter what, enjoy it…it’s versatile and delicious!
